0h hi th3re

I am an exercise in dichotomies- a former Marine who prefers his music soothing, a man bored by horror movies, a poet who laughs at toilet humor, a 'suit' by day who prefers jeans and quirky t-shirts.

Call of Duty 4 (360), Crackdown, GTAIV. Familiarizing myself with the Wii library.

In the arcades- Space Invaders. At home, Combat on the Atari 2600. Before that, I vaguely remember Simon.

Mixed Martial Arts (MMA), Brazilian Jiujitsu (BJJ), Combat Submission Wrestling (CSW), Kickboxing, Boxing, Running, Writing Poetry & Fiction, Cartoons, 80s Music, Shoegazing/Darkwave Music, Alternative, Swing/Big Band Music, Tabletop Role Playing Games, Video Games (PS2, Xbox, Dreamcast, NES, PC).

If you haven't seen my obsessive hailing of the game yet, Sins of a Solar Empire is absolutely fantastic.  I never played Gal Civ, but I've heard it's like Civiliation in pace.  I can tell you, it's at a Civ pace, but it's ot turn based.  The game is incredibly deep.  Not story-wise (in fact there isn't a story), but the gameplay is incredibly complex, but not overwhelming.  It's quite easy to get into and learn.  That's not to say you will always learn something new when you play.  I know it's really early but I'd be surprised if it didn't win at least Strategy Game of the Year.  I'd probably even put it as a contender for Game of the Year.  Of course, like I said, it's still very early.  More great games to be released this year!
