Title: Out of Steam
Category: ATK Down (weak)
Blog Entry: So the wife and I are switching off watching the kid during the night. She usually hears him so he sleeps in the crib during her nights. I'm a heavy sleeper so I usually try to stay awake with him through most of the night. Usually he wakes up every 3 hours to eat and get changed. This is good, because I can usually get a couple hours of sleep on my nights. Last night he decided he didn't feel like sleeping so I was up with him all night. This is after my wife asked me to watch him starting at 4:30 Sunday morning. So yes, I have been awake since early Sunday morning with no sleep and I'm at work. It's not horrible yet, I've done much longer (my record is a little over 100 hours I think). Anyway, staying up during the night gives me a couple of hours off and on for game time. I have been making my way through Lego Batman which is of course a blast. I love all the Lego games. This weekend however, I finally jumped on the Steam train. I have been a member for well over a year now but never really looked into it or bought anything. I ended up purchasing the Counter Strike pack which comes with the original Counter Strike along with Condition Zero (and it's cut scenes) and CS: Source. Right after I purchased it, I find out that Steam was giving away 5 free mods. So I downloaded those as well. I have yet to try them out though. I also downloaded Garry's Mod and Team Fortress 2 (they came in a pack). TF2 is pretty much like the 360 version on Orange Box. It has updates that make the game a little better, but I haven't played it enough yet to see if there is anything major. Garry's Mod is what Forge needs to be. You can instantly drop objects from and HL2 or Source game (assuming you own them) onto the map. You can also use HL2 or Source maps. Then when things are dropped you can use the Gravity Gun or Phisics gun to pick up and throw objects or place them where you want to. There is nothing better than dropping trains on your friends. Then comes my favorite mod that I found on Google. Goldeneye Source. It's multiplayer only but it recreates all the multiplayer and single player levels from Goldeneye 64 in the Source engine. It still has a lot of work, but it is still a really great product they have so far and really brings back the memories. So if anybody has any Source mods/Games or Team Fortress 2 hit me up on Steam. My username is SilverFireshot.
