Yesterday I tried to get on MGO just to play a couple of games before I called it a night.  Well of course I had to sit through an hour of updating again and didn't have time to play (not to mention the update install crashed at 82%).  So I downloaded it again today and was FINALLY able to play for a little bit.

Tonight I downloaded a demo which took a good hour by the time it downloaded and installed (I'm on an 8mbps connection).  When I get into the game it says I have to update it.  Fine.  I was able to watch all of the movie Gladiator before it was finished downloading.  Then when it finally finishes, it has to install for another 5 to 10 minutes.  So I finish all of that and sure enough I get an error message saying "The copyright protection is invalid".  What a waste of time that was.

A couple of weeks ago my friend wanted to play PAIN.  Well I hadn't played it in a long time so I fire it up and it needs to update. 20 minutes later it updates and installs (which I thought was amazingly fast).  So I get into the game and it runs through no less than 10 separate updates that take around 45 minutes to complete.

This is why I do not mind paying $50 a year for Live.

Wow...I'm glad my PS3 is still pristine in its box.  Saves me the headache.  LOL  See you all on Live.

Yeah, it took my friend 3 hours to download the Force Unleashed demo on his PS3 and also 5 days to finally get an update to install and work for Soul Calibur 4.

I haven't played MGS 4 yet, but I've never had any problems with long download or install times on demos or updates. Weird.

So that what happen last night while I was playing Metar Gear Solid 4. Kept on seeing your online icon on/off back and forth.

I agree with you also on paying 50 bucks for the year.
